Get Your Email Answered First!
With everyone on information overload and inboxes at their maximum, what can you do to help get your email answered in a timely manner? Here are a few tips:
- Be sure you have a "call to action" in your subject line so your recipient will know exactly what your email is about. An example would be: "Asst Req Re: __________________"
- If your need is time sensitive, include that in your subject line as well: "Response Req by 11 AM re: ___________"
- As you correspond with recipients, replying to each email, change the subject line in your response accordingly
- And in urgent situations, to be sure your email is not lost in the deluge or in the infamous "black hole" of technology, call your recipient, advising them that the email has been sent and the timeline requested for response
